Hi, here is an encyclopedic article on the Scientology Religion (to balance the other one a bit).

Hi. This entry is quite long and dull, which is a shame because Scientology is really FUNNY! Like I said in the other thread - you need to include the funny bits - you know, woo-woo, we're all infested by ALIENS FROM OUTER SPACE! No, really, we are, but give me lots of your money and I can cure you!
I'm sure if you included more of the really daft stuff it would be less dry and boring.

Oh, and one question out of curiosity, "getjohn".
How much of your money have you given to these people, so far?

Sorry that the truth is less interesting than your imagination.

Hello getjohn,
The reason your writing keeps being hidden is that it appears to contain material copied from other websites, which we can't have here on H2G2. There may be other reasons but as I haven't seen the writing I can't say.
It's pretty pointless starting any new threads if the same thing is going to happen every time.
You can see the Writing Guidelines here: A53209 - which tell you the type of writing the Edited Guide is looking for.
You can of course create non-edited pieces by making sure you click the 'not for review' button when you create them. If they appear to be breaching copyright laws, however, people will 'yikes' them all the same. The site has to be strict about this.
Do check out the links your ACE will have left you to get more of a feel for what this site is about.

"Sorry that the truth is less interesting than your imagination."
Actually, getjohn, I almost invariably find that the truth is far, far more interesting than my imagination. Compared to what some people actually, really believe as religions, my imagination really is quite pedestrian and boring.
I'm not sure why you use the phrase "YOUR imagination". Are you suggesting perhaps that the entire "Xenu" stuff is something *I* dreamt up? You are mistaken. I have compared the reports of various reporting authorities, decided how much I trust each of them, and come to a conclusion I am satisfied with.
Now, just so I can understand where you're coming from, do please help me by answering the simple question I asked before.
How much of your money have you given to these people?
I'm sure you can understand why I ask the question as it goes to the heart of how balanced your view is and how reliable you are as a witness. I look forward to you ignoring the question or claiming it is irrelevant.

I don't think you dreamed up the volcano story. What you are dreaming up is the importance of this story which you find ONLY in some internet forums or where ever the net is spammed with this story. It's something which might have happened or not. It does not matter, in Scientology, and in what Scientologists do and believe. You got it wrong somehow and I think you were just reading too much interpretations instead of the real texts.

"What you are dreaming up is the importance of this story which you find ONLY in some internet forums"
Yeah, only in internet forums. And newspapers. And television reports. And testimonies of ex-Scientologists.
For Bod's sake, it was on South Park!
It's entertaining to watch Scientologists squirm when it's mentioned, but honestly, it's actually embarrassing.
And as for: "It's something which might have happened or not."
Are you serious? I mean, seriously, do you honestly believe it might have happened? Really?
Actually, please ignore all the questions above, because we're going to keep coming back to the crucial one...
How much of your money have you given to these people, getjohn? Let's just get that one out in the open and we'll have some context in which to continue.

This is really brainless. I just decided not to answer your questions anymore. Byee.

Obviously, the answer is: not enough!!
IS this our first proper scientologist to have wandered in?
Presumably, the 'story' that Hubbard said: 'The only way to make money is to invent a religion.' is also made up rubbish only on the internet?

Goodbye getjohn.
On one level, I'm not in the least surprised.
On another, I am a bit disappointed. The old Abrahamic woo-woo fairy stories do at least instill in their dupes a little more persistence. These L. Ronnie-come-lately religions are clearly scraping the barrel for believers if this is the kind of weak, run-at-the-first-sign-of-trouble behaviour they inculcate.
Well, like I say, not surprised. I hope, getjohn, I really do, that you get better.

The problem in conversation with you is that there is no conversation happening. All I can see you doing is trying invalidate my religion. I believe this is somewhat in violation of the House Rules for this place but since I did only read them after posting myself (sorry for that) you can have a grace period as well. Byee.

There is a conversation happening, Mr. Buttnor. I've asked you a question: "How much money have you given to these people?"
In order for the conversation to continue, you need to supply some sort of answer to that question. Otherwise, I'm trying to have a conversation, and you're just making noises.
So... care to try to resolve that one for us?
(Oh, and the House Rules don't prevent me or even particularly limit me from invalidating or even ridiculing your religion. "Freedom of speech", innit?)
