I live not too far from Ormskirk and all i can think of about it is that John Coulshaw (i think thats how its spelt) comes from there.
He can be send on TV and oftern heard on the Cris Moyles show on Radio 1 on friday doing his impersinations.
During the election he appeared on Radio 4 todays program, impersinating Tony Blair, William Hague and Charles Kennedy it was quite funny.

You forgot to mention the pub The Book'th Vine. ( Not too sure on the spelling there ) which is indeed a quality ale house.

That pub's name definitely begins "Buck" and ends "Vine" but I'm not sure if the middle bit's "'th", "Ith" or "I'th". Anyway it's a good place.
