A Conversation for DJing

Hello, I've been asked to have a look at this entry as I have some vague experience with DJing. But first I'll point out the annoying things to you.
Pieces is spelt wrong in the how to play tracks after each other section. Point 4 - I think. I think a few full stops may be missing from the last few sentences. I point these out as they'll no doubt be pointed out later.
This is quite a difficult area to write about. Partly, I imagine, as this is really an audial (is that a word?) subject. A bit like explaining what films are like on radio. There's nothing technically wrong with what you've written from what I can tell. (My background is in Student Radio - which can be good at times, honest - but I have DJed to an audience. There's a certain satisfaction in getting about 300 people to do the Can-Can then the Conga.) Would it be worth including more information as how to get started, what equipment you need, perhaps a basic guide to a mixing desk, etc? Perhaps a section on different types of DJ - I knew someone who claimed he could tell the difference between various DJs. DJing is stylish, would it be worth trying to write this article in a manner that reflects the club scene. Give it a bit of a beat, if you see what I mean. The SF author Jeff Noon is a master of this, have a look at "Vurt" or "Needle to the Groove".
If I think of anything I'll let you know. I hope what I've written has been in some way of help.

I've just had a look at the h2g2 picture gallery thing and I've come across a picture of a DJ mixing which you might want to use.

Good little basic introduction to a simply huge area, maybe you would like me to write some thing on how hip hop djs work, as it is radically different to the beat mix world of standard dance music. Scratching, looping and cutting techniques need to be explained methinks. Anyhoo send me some feedback if youd like a contribution and I'll get back to you with some text, if not some wavs (shame) slater, Vee Bee Emm (out, peace)

I would love to edit in any contributions you would like to write, I am aiming to write the "ultimate" artical on the subject with the aims of :-
* giving a hand up to people wanting to have a go
* making sure that newbies eyes are wide open to all the ups and downs
* to try an explain to some of the audianence why they should be a little more respectfull
* I even plan to put in a bit about how hook into a pro PA system (DI boxes etc.) and how how to keep on-side with a sound engineer (or maybe thats a whole new artical
