Hi, Ed,
I see you've had the ACE's visit,
Most folk around here are friendly, apart from those who are very friendly.
You've found the silver lining, here is the cloud:
h2g2 used to be a happy go lucky, anything goes sort of place. It got taken over (or rescued from oblivion) by the BBC. As you may know, the BBC is a strange mixture of absolute propriety and "Who gives a ****?" in its programme schedule. h2g2 researchers are now being restricted from publishing URLs willy nilly, and posting anything which looks as though it might be copyright (even the works of the revered Douglas}. Strange as it may seem, you are not allowed to quote from the work that provided the initial funding for the site where you want to post the quote. A paradox that would have amused DNA and could have provided at least half a chapter. There are "moderators" checking every posting to see whether it breaches the house rules.
Yep, even this one - Hi, Guys!
As you are from a country famous for its independent spirit, you will be pleased to know that there is a group of fearless revolutionaries who have taken an oath to restore the former freedoms or die in the attempt (well, die eventually). I refer to the (dah, dah!) ZAPHODISTAS. I'm sure that you will appreciate the significance of the name: a crook who became Intergalactic President. Seems entirely appropriate.
The army of the Zaphodistas is always pleased to welcome new recruits who show enthusiasm and a willingness to serve and protect the interests of fellow researchers, or if they just look good in the goo-berets. I am confident that you possess these qualities.
Perhaps you would care to consider:

and decide whether it is your sort of thing.
Viva la revolucion !
