Ah! I see you have got Jan Tore's old computer up and running. What are you running on it?
I have just installed Redhat 7.3. I even get things to work!
I can ship you the installation disks if you are interested.

I'm using RedHat! Gnome, to be precise. I also have Win.ME, but I prefer gnome. The graphic works better for some reason. Only problem is that RedHat doesn't recognize my printer as new hardware, and I don't know how to install it myself. So if I want something on print, it's back to Windows... I'm certain I could have been a real if only I knew more about computers...

Ugh, printers ... but now that you have internet access you can probably find out how to do that. I'll have a look around for you:
Okay, www.linuxprinting.org seems like a good resource, and their howto at www.linuxprinting.org/howto on a first impression isn't quite so terse and cryptical linux howto's often are. Good luck - i'll look around for some info about modems, I still have a little trouble with mine...

Thanks! If you need an ISDN card, by the way, you can have mine (Larsen PCI, one year old). Have you seen my Space recently? I discovered how to make links! One step closer to geekdom... Oops, gotta go, new pupil waiting!
