Thought this might be relevant considering the current series.

Blimey there's one hell of a sudden influx of entries to Peer Review! Anyone got anything to say about my Big Brother UK Entry?

Yep, PR has sure got busy!
Anyway, I've taken a look over your entry and it seems to be made of the right stuff!
Not being a huge Big Brother fan myself (my sister is...), it is a well written article with a considerable amount of detail and research. Have you managed to find a link to the Big Brother 2 Website as I'm pretty sure it's up and running now with the new series?
Looking good,
Kenrick

It's the first link on the page. Do you think I should make it more explicit?
Any other comments anybody?

" [who must leave]... and who must stay in the house" - hee hee, this latter 'must' probably wasn't exactly what was intended
Apart from a few typos.. no comments whatsoever. Stuff for the Guide without question .

Cheers Ashley, I'll have a look at those and see how they can fit in with the Entry.
I'm hoping that the Entry can also become a talking point for what is happening in the current series, though not sure about how this can be acheived. Perhaps H2G2ers are too sophisticated to be watching Big Brother?

* Bossel was amused *
I refuse to comment on this, full stop. BB is r*bb*sh. . This entry isn't.

Great article! Couple of points: Caroline was not the second to be evicted, Andrew was. Also Andrew and Melanie did not provide the only kiss on the series, Melanie also kissed Tom. Apart from that, a v. accurate article and one that deserves to go in the Edited Guide once the BB2 stuff has been added.

Frankie Roberto Posted Jun 8, 2001
Thanks, I've made those changes.
Can anyone add anything to any of the other characters? I wrote their portraits from memory, which is why some of them are more brief than others. What was the general opinion of Caroline?

Oh and I thought it could go into the Edited Guide as it is, and I could update it with the series 2 info after (it is in 10 weeks time after all). This is partly because I thought that it would be good to get some discussion going on the new series while it is on.

Thing is, once it's recommended and handed over to a SubEd, you can't edit it any more. You'll get your original copy back (with the A-number seen above) while the Edited version gets a new number.
IMHO your choice is to either set a press deadline before series 2 (and get it edited now), or wait until later (and don't have an Edited entry when people start talking).

Frankie Roberto Posted Jun 9, 2001
Not sure I quite fully understand what you mean there. I think I'll wait and hope it gets Edited soonish (if so I'll send the series 2 stuff in via the Update team), but if it is left too long then I'll request that it can be held until stuff about Series 2 can be added.

It's a nice entry, but I think it could do with a greater explanation of the show's rules. I don't think you get across just how isolated the contestants are from the outside world and how the rules help to induce the paranoia and back-stabbing that the audience presumably wants to see

Frankie Roberto Posted Jun 10, 2001
OK I'll work on that... It'll be up there soon.
Anything else?

You might like to add that when Melanie got out she took real offense to the way that she was portrayed in the house as the "sexy little minx". She has gone on to attack reality TV programmes as not being real and being totally in the hands of the editors to manipulate situations for the benefit of ratings.
