The taxi service here might seem a little bit confusing at first. Don't try to get an empty cab. It's virtually impossible. The cab drivers like to squeeze in two fares to the same place at once, to save money on gas (so they can make more themselves). There are special taxi stations where a person helps the cab drivers to find fares. You stand up in a line and wait until he screams out a destination and how many passengers he needs. Then, as fast as possible, you scream "Yes!", if it's your destination and you're not to many, that is.
You can drink the tap water here, but if you're a real connoisseur you can buy mineral water (which tastes like sand). A large cola (1,5 litres) costs around 550 drachmas.
And about cockroaches. Don't kill them with your foot. It won't work. Of course, it will die, but it will spawn more cockroaches with it's eggs. So don't assume that, since the cockroach is dead, there will be no more cockroaches. Either buy a can of spray that kills roaches or liberate them through the window.
Another interesting thing is the Greek alphabet. I'm on to it.
