Hi, I just wanted to leave you a note because there is a mistake in my mental lexicon article, I don't know where it came from but there you go. Footnote 4 is incorrect. A Phoneme (not a phenome) is the smallest sound that conveys meaning in a language. Therefore a better example would be, um, "bog" consists of 3 phonemes. Wordnet has an excellent definition:
phoneme n : (linguistics) one of a small set of speech sounds that are distinguished by the speakers of a particular language
