A very merry unValentine's Day to you, to you
bubster Started conversation Feb 15, 2000
It's nice for the world to have a day when everyone has an excuse to be as nice to their respective partners as they should probably be every day...
It's probably also nice - when that *ahem* 'very special day' is gone - to be deeply loved by a host of strangers from all over the world who have been touched by your humo(u)r, generosity, sensitivity and spirit. I mean, I wouldn't know, but, well... what do you reckon?
Hugs? I think so...

Well I'm *always* up for a good group hug!
Bubster, don't take this the wrong way, but there's something about you that always makes me feel like I can't decide between leaping at you with a great big hug or just completely breaking down and letting you make me feel better. Most of the time you've already done the latter so I guess it's great big hug time after all
Anyway - it's late and I'm going to babble.
I'm not sure if you're getting at what I think you're getting at. I'm a few beers into the night, so to speak, and besides, still a little sad about having spewed my venom about Valentine's Day for all of you to see (if you missed it do me a favor and don't go looking for it). I mean, I took this day that's supposed to be about something so wonderful that almost every piece of art in existence notes how fantastic it is - I'm talking about love of course - and I got petty. After the little storm of bitterness abated, I started thinking about all the people I know, or sort of know, or just read about on the forums, who are in love. Who am I to begrudge any of them their happiness? It's amazing when people can find each other, and even moreso when they can make it work. It's something to be celebrated and applauded and generally carried on about. And I forgot that for a while, as well as forgetting to appreciate what I have. But I didn't get away with that for too long either...

Kate: You get those twin reactions because:
(a) I deep; and
(b) I funkeh.
And for frickin' frackin' crap-diddli-crappity's sake: Babble On! Gawd, if we didn't all resent stuff that we didn't have from time-to-time we'd be scarcely human.
My advice: run around, tell the world to get a room, get schtinkin' drunk and laugh about it afterwards. And know that - however it may occasionally pale by comparison to that *other* love - you really are, well - let's just shake hands and say 'appreciated' - around here.
Yes. Yes you are. Yes, you.

Me too!! Me too!!!
Kate, you've helped me out in ways that I don't even think you realize (and NO, I don't mean the obvious ). You've made me feel like I can DO something online and you've inspired me to participate in this big, scary internet thingy instead of just gawking at it like I did for so many years. You helped to make me feel important and wanted in a room full of strangers (now my friends) when I wasn't really sure if I could do it on my own. And more than anything else, you've been a true friend to me (someone miles and miles away that you haven't even met!) when I've needed one the most.
Did you know all of that? It's twoo.
You're beautiful and brilliant and hilarious and amazing, and I know you don't like hearing any of this, but I'm a firm believer that Valentine's is meant for ALL the people you love (even if it's a bit late...), so there.
I'm quite a bit jealous of you, dear, and from me that's a major compliment.
Now look who's babbling. *Hopes it's not too late to join in on the group squidge*

I love you all, too - even if the only one I can reach at the moment is bubster...!

LOL!
I think perhaps I have just been maligned - though not in a bad way, you understand .
Meanwhile, what does this do for your good-guy, handsome devil image, hmm? Well, maybe 2 out of 3...

Who'd be maligning you, bubster? We don't call you "the magnificent" for nothing, you know...!
Whaddya mean, two out of three...? More importantly, which two...?
