h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hello, welcome to h2g2! My name's Dr E Vibenstein (but you can call me EV, everyone else does). I'm one of the Assistant Community Editors, so if you need any advice on anything h2g2 related, feel free to ask!

As you may know, before his untimely death Douglas Adams was actively involved with the h2g2 site. It would also be a fitting tribute if you could contribute something to the guide - try searching for some topics that interest you, and if there are no current entries on those topics, why not write one? Many thanks to the both of you for dropping me a line and the warm welcome.

I certainly intend to use this system to develop and share Lola. As soon as I can solve a few more basic design issues I will do so. I have recently completed most of the basic technology development, including the ability to synthesize speech, recognize speech, and perform numerous basic functions. As I look around h2g2, I see the possibilities for Lola to behave as a front-end to this fantastic well of information.

This is a wonderful entity. I look forward to the many, inevitable, discoveries it will show me. Thanks again for the warm welcome, I look forward to talking with all of you.
