Bread

Post 1

While a student I moved into a place where I shared the kitchen with two people, a fourth room stood vacant.
After a couple of months I started questioning the strange phenomenon that my bread seemed to go instantly mouldy, and would taste of mould after just one day. Finally I realised what should have been instantly obvious. Roommate one kept his bread on the counter, roommate two kept his on top of the fridge, yet nevertheless there was almost no room in the drawer where I kept my loaf. The rest of the space? Taken up by really ancient bread wrapped in shopping bags.
Disturbing this treasure of biological activity caused a terrible odor to spread. In fact, to move the four ancients loafs to the dustbin I had to walk into the hall, draw a deep breath, hold it while moving the loaf and returning to the hall. And I was still gagging.
But at least I was no longer eating mouldy bread. smiley - smiley
