I'm based in southern California. By some strange twist of fate (or maybe just dumb coincidence) I'm a student too, though somewhat below the drinking age.smiley - smiley I like water polo and skiing. When I have my summer holidays I like to go to my uncle's home in the wooded islands of southern Canada, and hang out for weeks at a time. Thanks for the greeting, and for breaking into my lonely little world.

Thats the great thing about living in the U.K. legal drinking age is 18 smiley - biggrin.....but because at that age its hard to judge ages most of us, more mature peoplesmiley - winkeye can get way with drinking smiley - ale andsmiley - stout etc...at about 16....!

the funny thing is i was sharing a floor in my old halls of residence with a load of americans....(please dont take offence to the following anecdote) and of course their being only 18 they werent used to our excessive drinking sessions so they got quite blattered for the first month or so...v. funny!!!

on a serious note though i find that a high age limit can be counter productive because as alcohol is readily available in england it isnt a big deal....so we dont feel the need to drink but I found that the u.s. actually ended up drinking more often because to them it was both grown up and a novelty....dont know where im really going with this.....just an observation....

anyway have a smiley - ale on me for listening to my rantings...smiley - smiley

agcJsmiley - blush
