Half-Tone , Whole Tone over altered 7s

Greetings friend!
How is it going these days. You don't know me but you know the path that brings a person to the Guide , and thats just as good.
Im interested in a comment you gave earlier this year which suggested the above formula for jazz affectionados.
My musical background is spotty. (not snotty)
I play guitar , piano, and percussion instruments, as well as nose flute. Can you give me an example of either of these scales.
Well, work it out in your head, my brain tells me.
You know what a whole tone is don' t you?
Yeah a whole tone is two steps.
so a whole tone scale would be 2 steps 2steps 2steps and son with no regard 4 whether your hitting sharps or flats or what.
Ditto for half tone.
Now, analtered seven has me puzzled. altered how? Inverted perhaps?
abcd#f#G#a#C (whole tone scale) presumably to be played over an inverted a7 chord
dd# (wait! wouldn't a half tone scale just be every friggin key? I mean if a half tone is one step then theres no smaller distance on the keyboard so a (half-tone scale would be presumably every key / played over ANY seventh chord is your suggestion?
Now, whats a whole-half scale?
Peace
sincerely,
Timebender
