A Conversation for The London Underground
1930s underground travel stories

Hi, I'm trying to do some research on what it was like travelling on the tube (rail as it was known then) in the 1930s, looking specifically at travelling from Wembley/ Wembley area into the city. I'm interested in this because 'Metro-land' was built by the Metropolitan Railway Comapny in the Wembley area as the ideal suburb and a new railway line was built to take the people living in 'Metro-land' into the city and I'm trying to find out what the journey was like. I'll be happy to get information on what it was like to commute from any suburb into London to help me build up a picture.
I've had a look at books about Metroland and through the Brent archive but no one talks about the actual experience of commuting.
So I was wondering if anyone has memories of commuting from Wembley to the city in the inter war and might be able to recount something about it. A few bits will do, to help me build up a picture, and if you're happy for me to publish this information in a local museum display, then please let me know.
Thanks
