I saw that too. But I have chosen to stay out of the conversation. As far as that op-ed goes, it's what I do. Among other things, I'm a social commentator.

I ceased to be active on that thread shortly before you joined it, but I still lurk there. I agree with the comments on your personal space, although we probably disagree about many other things! 
It's a shame: what should be a conversation can become quite vicious.
