I think I've finished this, though as it's the first entry I've put into peer review any feedback would be good!

Very interesting! Isn't there a youth camp on the island as well?

I've added a small bit about it and a link to their homepage, I could write loads but seeing as the activities they offer change with the instructors they have on site I thought this would be the best way to keep it up to date!
I've been busy!

Blues Shark - For people who like this sort of thing, then this is just the sort of thing they'll like Posted Aug 8, 2002
I know Mersea well as my dad moored a succesion of boats there until ill-health forced him stop.
This is a fine entry, and brought back many happy memories for me. Thank you.
I feel it would be remiss of me to point out that my mate Denny spent many of his early years on Mersea, as immortalised in one of his better songs;
'I watched the tide roll in on the Blackwater
As the clouds were getting dark
I ran and ducked for cover
From God's almighty spark'
Denny Newman-Noah's Great Rainbow
Nothing to do with the entry really, but i do like to bang on about Denny from time to time.

It's not only open to children from the island though? Maybe you could add
The camp is also available to youth groups from all over Essex.

Ausnahmsweise, wie üblich (Consistently inconsistent) Posted Aug 8, 2002
Hi,
Nice entry. I drove through Mersea, Ontario, Canada a few days ago. I wondered at the time where the name came from. (I drove through Leamington, Chatham, Tilbury and London on the same trip.)
I saw a couple of small typos. "saily" and "mebers". And you haven't been consistent when using east/East. East Mersea, the proper name, is fine, but you say "to the East of the island" in one place but "churches at east and west" in another. I'm not sure, maybe you're right and "the East" is supposed to be capitalized?
Anyway - I'm sure it will go straight to the front page

I have no idea whether compass points should be capitalised, I think that is probably a guide specific thing!
Thanks for pointing out the typos I'll go and sort them now!

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

I can't believe how long it's taken me to get the article ready for the guide, I just kept forgetting about it!
