Spring is bursting out all over

Post 1

Practising Listener

After the many months of rain we have had in east Kent, Spring seems to be bursting out all around.

Many of the Pelagonia that I though were moribund are putting out those bright green leaves that show they are alive . (Why is it that new leaves later in the year are a less exhuberant colour of green?)

We have a dozen different types of Daffodils in flower - multiflora, tete -a-tete, narscissi, double cup, miniaturres etc. The Hyacinth are also blooming in a range of colours - white, cream, blue, pink and mauve.

I noticed this morning that the Lilac trees (white and mauve) have burst their buds and several flowers are starting to show.

In the orchards (on my route to work) the Pear trees are blossoming white (no leaves yet) and the Apples have got their first leaves shoing.

And Easter is with us next weekend - to celebrate that the grave is not the end, death does not triumph, rather Jesus the Lord of Life is the victor.
