h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I have a Parker 15 (aka Jotter), a Parker 17, a Parker 25, a Parker 51, a Parker Duofold, a Parker Frontier Translucent Blue, a Parker Frontier Flighter GT, a Parker Moderne and a Parker Vector. Those are just my Parker fountain pens, I have other Parkers and other fountain pens, including some Sheaffers and and a wooden dip pen and I came very close to asking my aunt for money to buy a new Parker Duofold International.

The best bit is I used to hate writing with a pen, loath would be a better word. Now though, give me a nice fountain pen and some paper and I try desperately to think of something to write down.

they are the perfect shoe for my wide foot and for where i live... on maui
and they are tres cheap
but i really only need about 5 pairs ya know... i just cannot resist a new color or decoration
i am addicted!

Hi TB. Reminds me of my first english lesson after going upto 'the big school'. My new english teacher was a 50 year old spinster and the first thing she did was to ask us all to put our pens on the desk. Somewhat bemused this was done and she walked round the class picking up and looking at the array of pens on display. I can still recall her words even now.

Teacher - "Those of you with the so called modern pens, as in Biro's, will not darken my classroom again with such rubbish. You will all use proper pens. That's fountain pens. Do I make myself clear"
Biros were never seen again in that class.

I have to say I enjoy writing with fountain pens, I have a 24 carat gold Sheaffer which is an absolute joy to write with. Shame really we seem to have lost the 'art' in writing, another casualty of the IT era I guess.

I'd love to work in or own a pen shop, but I'd hate selling the things and I'd have to make sure they go to a good home, where they'll be looked after.

I have 2 complete sets of knitting needles, one in bamboo and one in wood, 1 and 1/2 sets of crocet hooks and a laundry bin full of wool, I think I have an obession too

I just went on Sheaffer's website and did their 'which pen is right for you' thing and the two top matches were £170 and £200. Luckily one of them is the sort of current version of one I've got.
