Flea Market Rescues

Pretty much. You go to the Flea Market, pick an Entry you fancy rescuing, contact the Original author and let them know what you're doing in case they want to collaborate further, copy the Original Entry and credit the author(s), add your bits, clean it up, submit it to Peer Review and once it'd done it's bit in there and is recommended the Eds can remove the Entry from the Flea Market and return it to the originla author. Then the original author and yourself have an Edited Guide Entry, sort of like a Collaborative Entry but often without the collaboration because Flea Market Entries are often those that are orphaned

The other thing is, it can give inspiration. The Entry on Aussie Slnag I pulled from the Flea market and now have in PR is nothing like the original - but I still credited the original author as they inspired me to get something in for the EG.
I noticed the EG has slim pickings too, so if everyone else who doesn't fancy writing an Entry from scratch, but can get something from the Flea Market and brush it up to a nice standard it not only involves other people who might come back to the site once they see they have an Entry in the EG, but also gets more into the queue for the Front Page.
Go and have a dip in the Flea Market, you know you want to!

I'm not really here Posted Feb 28, 2007
I've done a couple - the ones that barely need any work to get them through I usually get my name taken off the entry once it's done.
I've got one in PR at the moment, although I've lost interest a bit, I will do something on it soon!

There's talk of further promoting the Flea Market here; F3719964?thread=3566187&skip=440&show=20
Natalie's dropped in and said it's been noted, so if any one has any ideas on HOW to promote it on the Front Page, I'd say suggest them there, so the Italics can get them okay
