h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I would be very interested in what my friends make of this.

One day, in a large crowd - details matter not - one man glimpses another. He does a double-take. He looks at the face ... his own face goes white. "It's you!" he says. The other man notices ... looks at the first man, puzzles for a moment - then goes red in the face. "IT'S YOU!" he exclaims. He storms at the first man, who turns tail and runs away as fast as he can.

Please provide a possible explanation for the situation, given this one bit of information: neither man has seen the other before this moment.

Okay,that's a puzzler, indeed. I'll be interested to learn about it.

Is it possible they've seen pictures of each toher?

They're identical twins separated at birth. No idea why the angry reaction, though.

Hi Dmitri and Amy! There are no right or wrong answers, it's more an exercise in creativity. So yes, Dmitri, pictures might have been involved. Amy, you have an angle also. Can you create a little story that *would* make sense of the men's reactions also?

I have of course my own story in mind but I'd like to see some others!
