h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Today I finished writing my book 'The Glass Eaters'. This book is the third of the Wavendreem's Garden series ... and I planned from the outset to finish the first three books of the series (the whole series I'm planning runs to twelve books) and then try and find a publisher! I wanted to be sure I could continue writing and finding ideas for all the stories, and now I am confident of that! Also the three books ought to give a publisher an idea of what the entire series is going to be like. I'm going to celebrate a bit tomorrow and then start trying to find a publisher!

Of course there will be more work ... I'm really hoping I can find an editor who could give me good advice ... but at the least, I have something to show now!

Just for anyone who's interested: the Wavendreem's Garden stories are fantasy/science fiction (the two co-exist in my stories) with female protagonists, Valerie, Vivienne and Bridget. They are from a world much like ours (I won't give anything away just yet!) but from there they travel to a fantastic world in which magic seems to be the way of things. They embark on a series of quests, all of which lead to their ultimate goal, Wavendreem's Garden.

My stories are aimed at adventurous young or not-so-young folks ... I think they're suitable for children of about 11-12 and upwards, but there's a lot of stuff older people could appreciate as well, I hope.

You have written three books - that's impressive! You seem to be highly productive when you put your mind to it ... and that is the key aspect of creativity. Sort of reminds me a little of the productivity of the Jack Nicholson character in "As Good as It Gets", when he completes his latest book.

OK thanks Dmitri, Stone Aart and Amy! Stone Aart, yes I am a bit like Jack Nicholson's character in that movie by being rather messed up in my own head and life but hopefully still able to write books 'normal' people can enjoy! And unlike Jack's character I am not nasty with people, I don't say bigoted or insulting things to them, I am friendly and positive and *certainly* am not deliberately trying to push people away with what I do and say!

But anyways about the stories. Amy, wouldn't you like to read a little more? Anybody else perhaps interested in a sample?

Now that the chicken coop is done (well, mostly, but painting the exterior before the rains begin shouldn't take that long) and occupied, and I have a bit more time again, sure!
