h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I just want to let you all know, I'm back home in Pietersburg ... and so is my dad!

His heart is stable now. He was released from the hospital yesterday, but stayed with my mom and I in the guest house until this morning. Then we tackled the drive back ... he is still extremely weak and tired and the drive was a bit of a strain for him ... but now he's in his own bed again! That's an incredible relief for him ... no matter how good the treatment was at the hospital (and it was excellent, as I'll explain soon in another entry), it was a strain being in a foreign environment. Now he's back home, back with the familiar things and people (not just my mom and I, but other friends as well) and that's just so much more supportive an environment to be in.

My mom and I will now have to help him *a lot* until he gets some strength back.

I'll soon post a long story telling this whole affair in much more detail.

Very dear Willem,

so pleased that your Dad is back in his own bed at home. He will regain his strength I am sure. He is so fortunate to have the two of you to care for him and cook for him. No fat - no cream - no butter - no eggs. I promise you it does work.No alchohol - but I am sure that is not a problem.

Fish, bland food, no boerewors !!!! - just plain wholesome food with no butter on bread and no marg either, Marmite is good.

anyway, good luck to the three of you. I find that drinking the juice of a fresh lemon in hot water is very good for getting a good lot of vitamins in one early on. !!

Fruit as well is good.

Willem, that is such good news. I do hope he continues to make good progress. He has been through a lot lately, so a rest will do him good. Both you and your Mom too.

I'm so glad to hear your Dad is back at home. What an ordeal he's been through, and you all too. May he rest and get his strength back; I'll be thinking of you.

Thanks everybody! I need strength now ... I want to start writing the full account of my dad's ordeal the past few weeks. There is much uplifting stuff I want to include as well ...
