h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hello folks! I want to apologise for not being very active over here lately. I've been having a hard time with the internet. I have for very long now been unsuccessfully trying to upload photos of mine to photo-sharing sites. Since I've still not been able to succeed with a single photo, since the last four I got I know not how onto Webshots, keeping in mind what Albert Einstein said about doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results, I must concede defeat. My photos are in all probability simply never going to get up there unless I try a radically different strategy. So anyways I'm going to try *two* strategies. The first is simply to email photos to people who are interested. So - would anybody here who's really interested in seeing nice photos of animals, plants and scenes of South Africa, please email me - my email is on my Uspace and just to make things *extra* easy here it is again:

I will send photos a few at a time - and in small jpg format since I know from experience how long it can take to load an email with lots of huge photos! But really, folks ... I really want to share all the beautiful and interesting and wonderful things in my life and in my world with others!

In turn I am of course interested in any photos any of you have to share as well! - Keeping in mind what I myself said, files not too huge!

OK that's strategy one. Next strategy is I'm going to try and get better internet. Will be asking around about options ... I think my 'net access is outdated and I am sure I'm gonna find some nice new 'method' over here somewhere, somehow ...

Apart from that, the internet has been keeping me busy downloading music ... I've joined a nice new site where I can pay a bit of money for which I can download songs ... I'm assured the artists get their share and that it's all legal! Been enjoying doing that very much ... except for today when again the internet has foiled me for quite a bit of time, and several times I was assured the downloads were complete when in fact they were only partial! But at last it seems I'm succeeding ... hope this lasts!

I also hope I can get all these internet niggles fixed so I can become a bit more active here again!

Me too, Willem. But here's a thought - have you tried other photo sites? Could it just be Webshots? And is it a timing problem - I know the one I use seems to get slow when America wakes up.

Did the two orchid photos I linked on the other thread take a long time to load? I don't really know how fotki shows the photos but I do know they don't show at original uploaded size.

Music has soothed my soul lately
I listened to so much that I now have a song in my head rather than thoughts when I choose I have been without music for a while.
I have had too many neg or worry thoughts so it has been good medicine.

So nice to see you here Willem during a rare appearance on my part.

At any rate ... I think I may get better internet, soon now, in which case I will give the online 'exhibition' of my photos and paintings and other pictures another try! I really would like it if it could work out ...
