Would anyone like to see if this could make a Guide entry, or is the idea too slight and tenuous?
Inspired by a typical Incompetent/Energetic boss...

This looks like a good idea for an Entry - here are some suggestions to improve it a bit:
The whole approved use of GuideML thing isn't just there to be irritating - in fact, if you use such things as tags, the Entry automtically looks quite neat and well laid-out. Just use the following layout when typing:
When the Germans needed .... six months or less.
The question also arose .... work most effectively for Germany?
In terms of paragraph length - the two paragraphs in the Type 1 section are the right sort of length for paragraphs.
The headers are already nice and obvious without putting them in capitals: 'Type 1 - Competent/Energetic' would look better. Same thing goes for other mentions of the types - no need for full capitals, as 'Competent/Energetic' is clear enough.
I know Type 3 is much more interesting than Type 4, but it looks a bit unusual having them the wrong way around.
The content looks reasonably good, though it will need a little bit of nitpicking - that can wait for now.

hi Alex
Sorry it took so long to notice this - the (other) BBC boards where I spend my time have been getting quite boring and constrained (there seem to be an amful lot of cutbacks and deleted boards elsewhere in the BBC, notably around Radio and Television. Is h2g2 safe?) and as of late so I took a sabattical and went ewlsewhere for a while to get engaged in other boards, as less seemed to be happening on the BBC.
What do yoyu think nees to be done to make this fit for Peer Review? I left it as is because I couldn't think of anything else to add.
Thanks for taking the time to look!
Cheers m'dear!

The main thing it needs is a raft of small improvements, which are more easily spotted by a mass of Researchers in Peer Review, so I shouldn't worry about them right now. I'm not entirely sure about the last section, as it wanders into rant territory about a certain boss, but otherwise there's a finished article in there.
I'd say take the plunge and put it in Peer Review.

If you'd worked with Yvonne you too would have ranted...

I agree. There's enough in this to make a good Entry.

I'm not too fussed about the other dead ends of mine that have made it to Flea Market, but I'd like to resurrect this one as I think it's wholly in keeping with the spirit and ethos of h2g2. How do I go about it?

Hello AgProv2 - it's great to see you back!
I must admit I'd thought you'd gone, which is why your articles were moved to the Flea Market. But as you're back, then of course you can remove the article from the Flea Market.
Visit Writing-FleaMarket and clicking on the 'Remove' link that is next to the article, which should be at the top of the list. You can then edit your article as normal, which I hope to see in Peer Review soon!

Edited to remove subjective but heartfelt personal feelings about a certain former boss, as suggested above! Now to move it back to Peer review. I've been a long time away...

Ah. I keep getting "The following error occurred: You do not have permission to move the thread" when I try to Remove. Any suggestions?

That's very odd. You should be able to do it. Bluebottle, as a Guide Editor, can you try removing the entry from the workshop?

This has now been removed from both the Edited Guide Writing Workshop and Flea Market, so you shouldn't have any more problems. If you do, let me know
