Oh, those evil atheists!

"Atheists are America’s least trusted group, according to a national survey conducted by University sociology researchers.
Based on a telephone survey of more than 2,000 households and in-depth interviews with more than 140 people, researchers found that Americans rate atheists below Muslims, recent immigrants, homosexuals and other groups as “sharing their vision of American society.” Americans are also least willing to let their children marry atheists."

I wonder how Catholic priests rate on the trustworthy scale?

Well, you gotta admit, those atheists are pretty scary!
You sure wouldn't want one running a country.

"The Danish Atheists and Non-believers Group (DANG) feels that the twelve drawings are intentionally mocking their non-belief, but have until now remained relatively calm as the story about the blank pages had not hit mainstream media until the threat was issued."

Would you let your daughter marry one? Happily, I am in the impregnable position of not having a daughter.
Atheists? Isn't burning them the traditional response? Or was that Christians? So hard to remember the differences between these seemingly very similar types of human being. They say only Serbs and Croats can tell the difference between Serbs and Croats. To everyone else they appear identical!

I love the bit where they say 'more than 140 people' in an attempt to make it sound like they talked to a large number of people Especially as you know it must be less than 145 people as otherwise they'd have said 'nearly 150 people...'

Burning was the preferred punishment for heresy. Since atheism means literally 'not god-belief', it was typically deemed a most heinous variety of heresy.
Of course, a person could be declared a heretic if they simply did not adhere closely to the authorized dogma of the ruling myth-masters..
I would be interested in reading the complete results of the survey in the forthcoming April issue of the “American Sociological Review.” Unfortunately, this publication seems absent from local magazine racks..
