A real?!!
Hello and welcome to H2G2.
My name is Crystal Butterfly and I am an Assistant Community Editor {ACE} one of a group of volunteers to like to meet and greet and hopefully befriend new researchers.
This is an awesome site, and it does take a little getting used to at first.
If you require any help or assistance, please just click the reply button and I'll be back to help!
Have fun hitchhiking around!

Hey Crystal Butterfly, thanks for the welcome. I know the site pretty well, although adding my own thoughts and experiences will be a new thrill for me to learn. I've been a chat board fan for some time over at SciFi Channel's bboard system, but with the demise of the fabulous Mystery Science Theatre 3000, the bboards began to fill with some ratherr obnoxious characters. So I've found a new home and somewhere where I can contribute as well. Yippee!
The main thing I wonder about at this time, is how to add those wonderful smiley faces and icons to messages. Everyone seems to be doing it but I have no idea how. Any advice?
Mucho thanks and I look forward to the adventure.

The smileys are wonderful, aren't they,Neil?
You can either go here:http://www.h2g2.com/smiley and read them all; or just click on one when you see one!
Here's how to type them: < doctor > {without the spaces}
There's also ain fact quite a few medical conditions, but no butterfly smiley!
So I am still typing db
I like these

Ah, another ex SciFi bboarder...now feel right at home. May we mourn the loss of MST3K, especially the lost 10th season which SciFi UK decided in it's wisdom not to show (or season 8 or 9 for that matter!)
I do remember EVILEDNA, although I'm sure 666 is also a name I recall. Maybe it was at paramount text some time ago. I just dunno anymore, it's all gotten a bit confusing.
Still, as a timelord I'm sure you're used to a little bit of confusion.
Thanks for the message, good to find a friend along for the ride. Stay in touch
Neil
(I do so like these smiley things!)
