I shouldn't really have expected anything else should I? This is par for the course.
She rang yesterday because she wanted to know when she'd be getting her money (it's been promised to the grandchild so of course it's urgent) and I pointed out that until she actually signed the contract that she'd been sitting on for over a week and returned it to the solicitor for us to sign no-one could arrange anything, so she got on a couple of buses and took it straight there and asked the solicitor to ring her with the completion date.
Then she went straight back and rang BT to get our phone cut off.
I felt such an idiot when I rang them (from a phonebox a couple of miles away) to report a fault and they said "But that line is no longer in use at that address"
She'll have asked for the phone number to be transferred so she doesn't have to inform everyone.
It was really nice of her to tell us wasn't it?
If I'd known I could have made the Iceland order last night while I had the chance (or actually done enough shopping for two weeks when I was in town today) and cancelled the internet account, instead of paying for 2 weeks non-use, and made all the dozens of necessary phonecalls to utilities, insurers, banks, schools, doctors...
They said we could have a new number for 16 days but we'd have to pay a connection fee and a cancellation fee. It just isn't worth it.
I'd cry if I wasn't in a public place!
Oh well, I've probably bitched enough.
Best see if I can manage a grocery order from here, before they close.

She can now Icky - I seem to have managed to convince the nice man at BT customer services that they must have disconnected us in error. We got a call from an engineer just now to say he's just reconnected us and he hasn't put a time limit on it so we won't be charged next time we ask to be disconnected. (hehehe, I've still got it - at least when they can't see me )
Keep your fingers and toes (and anything else you can manage) crossed.
I'm going to do the Iceland order now, before someone decides to disconnect us again.
Thanks for the . I needed it.
Thanks for the Jak. I needed that too , and you can never have too much . The is looking good in a . (I'm afraid I've packed all the vases.)

Jak, who's the woman in your life who has given you the most grief?
Hmm... maybe not - you're a man. Ask the big banshee to name the woman who's given her the most grief.
Yup, you got it!

Madame K,
I suppose us fellas should be grateful that you have but two little fingers. It limits the number of men who can be wrapped around them.
Well done, bonnie lass!
for Luck.
Just dashing out to get some Kwiksave instant soup for me lunch, whereas Iceland panders to your every whim.
Is there a moral there?
