Hiya

I'm back, but only briefly, work's v busy at the mo.

Houses - glad you're liking yours. Space is great (well, kind of. A couple of rooms in our house are still a bit echoey). We haven't found dry rot yet, thankfully, but we do need new drains and new tiles on the roof. For now, though, they're just going to have to wait.

Drool thread - you're right, not quite my thing. However, have just had the wonderful experience of taking five young ladies to Brussels for the weekend. Larverly. smiley - winkeye

Right, better get on, all those zeroes and ones are waiting for me

Sho - employed again!

Brussels... love it (my nearest good English bookshop is there)

The drool thread does consist mostly of ancient ladies like me drooling over fine young things (like you probably) you do well to stay away!

Busy is good, right? Glad to see you haven't forgotten us here.... (echoey rooms: get to Ikea lad!)

Hiya

I can't believe how much time passes between consecutive H2G2 visits. Note for diary - do less work, spend more time playing on the internet.

Yup, Brussels was great. I've been once before, with a friend who was seriously into beer and Art Nouveau. So we did all the real serious tourist stuff then. Last week's trip was just a nice bit of relaxation. Feel like I've put on a stone though, with all the beer, chocolate, moule et frites, waffles, etc. I did, however, completely fail to eat a single Frikandelle - which was very disappointing. (I guess I'll just have to go back)

Right, better go. I'm on early shift, so I'm nearly finished for the day. (Hurrah)

Take care smiley - smiley

Play on the net more. Sounds good to me.

Do they eat Frikandellen in Belgium? I've never noticed, because I don't eat them. We used to go to the "rue de Poissins" (or however you spell it) can't remember the correct name however, just off the Grande Place. Great fish. But now we tend to go to the bottom of the street and eat in a place called the Drug Opera (if it's still there, haven't been for a while). It's easier with the kids. Sigh. I well remember, pre-gruesome-twosome, fencing up and down the stairs in a multi-story car-park with baguettes and a friend's husband, while the Belgians shook their heads and muttered curses about the English.

Day off tomorrow to celebrate the re-joining of Germany. The only thing to celebrate, IMO, is the fact that the tax we pay for that could have been higher, I suppose.
