I see you're listening in on a lot of conversations, but not making a lot of contributions. Do you enjoy lurking in the background, or do you consider h2g2 to be actually a good source of information about diverse subjects? I wonder, because I use h2g2 mainly for discussing stuff, and the rest of the internet for finding things out!

Heehee-
I've been busy writing my fictional stuff off-line lately (and for far too many late nights I might add). No one on here cares about that, so.....it sort of takes time away from my on-line writing and then requires a bit of a mind-bend to switch gears. I kind of hit my stride, and I'm going with it. Follow the muse, as they say.
Also, been touring quite a bit with my Taiko group, so my hours are odd lately, even by my standards. I need to get a laptop with wireless web access
how r u?

I M very well, thanks a lot. Getting used to this new strange place. Talking about web access, I would really love to have a way to get and stay online that's more reliable than my current way.
So, you write fictional stuff? I'd like to do something like that. What kinda fictional stuff?

Well, I guess if I had to ascribe a genre to it it would be fantasy, but that sort of conjures up a possibly misleading idea. Basically its all about characters interecting in extreme circumstances that allow me (and them) to explore ethics and spirituality, faith and rationalism, trust and betrayal, good vs evil (and all the greys in between), reality vs perception.
That's all

But I like the idea. Have you managed to get any of it published yet?

I haven't tried yet, but tha'ts the eventual idea. Of course I have no notion of how one goes about doing that

Do you know, you can find huge numbers of contacts online for magazines, websites and so on who want people to write stuff for them and will pay, too???
I have already had things I wrote bought and published internationally!

Do you have any suggestions for sites I should check out? I'd really appreciate any info!
Thanks!!!!!!!!

Enter the incredibly silly rule that we cannot post links in forums! If you want to know, basically, go into the Google search engine (I hope you have that one, it's the only one I use) and search for "writing jobs online", or "freelance writing jobs". I believe you will find quite a large amount of info that you might be able to put to use. Many of the sites have themselves lots of links to other sites.

You can come check - my new page is starting to have some content. My old one is still a shambles. I still haven't recovered my old password so that I can go fix it. But I have asked, I'm waiting for a reply.
I hope you find something. But at least you have a *real* job!

Hi again - doesn't it make it a bit hard to know when someone has dropped you a line when you're subscribed to so many different conversations? You could easily miss a response to one of your precious rare postings!
But anyway I've checked some of those forum conversations you're subscribing to, and there are some really fascinating ones!

Tell me, do you have a 'bot' that automatically subscribes to conversations for you, or do you actually read lots and lots of entries? Are you one of those rumored 'readers' that the BBC's new policies are seemingly geared to, or what?
And how are you doing nowadays by the way?

I've been a bit busy, so not around too much of late. Dad's birthday, litle girl's brithday, work, music, spot of the flu, all conspiring to keep me off line and busy doing other things.
I'm fine, though! How are you fairing?
cheers-

I am really great, thanks! My dad also had his birthday recently. Nice to hear you're still busy with the music!
