It isn't quite polished up, (It needs to be put into some sort of format, as opposed to a compilation of notes, and it's alittle drab (needs jokes, desperately)) but I would like it to be at least looked at by somebody.
Thanx

First things first, get rid of the goo. If you choose to view goo, do! But don't make the rest of us do it. There is obviously some "clever" code in your entry which switches the skin to Classic Goo. This should be omitted so that the entry can be seen in any skin.
Change the title: I only looked at this article because I didn't understand the title. What is System X? You might say, I shouldn't be reading the article if I don't know what System X is, but I approached it from the other part of the title. I thought it was about touring the galaxy. Put an explanation at the start saying what System X is.
Finally, don't add jokes to your entry. If you write in a naturally amusing style, that is good. But sticking in one-liners into an otherwise dry article will not make the article better.

If you don't like classic, try http://www.h2g2.com/A485868?skin=alabaster . The "?skin=" is the clever bit, and you can take it out entirely to use your default display.
Otherwise, I agree with the review. The title should probably be "System X", and the entry should say what System X is. I figured it must be a video game.
I'm not sure what I think about submitting "works in progress" to peer review. On the one hand, you can get good feedback at early stages that way. On the other hand, peer review *is* the way you say "Hey Editors, my work is ready for the Edited Guide", so the entry ought to be ready.

hi again mac
Works in progress should be submitted to the writing workshop, rather than the guide - at http://www.h2g2.com/writing-workshop.
Entries which you don't *ever* want to see as part of the edited guide, typically because you want to continually update them, should not be submitted to either. There are a number of ways to promote such entries - but my favourite is to post to appropriate forums - look for entries on OS's, Mac's, etc - and post there.
As suggested - an entry on System X the OS would be a *great* addition to the guide. Explain what it is, what the differences are to windows/linux/whatever. Then you could ad a post to it pointing to this entry, which is (if I understand right) essentially a tips and tricks entry.
Good work. Now if only someone would do the same with windows ME so I could figure out how to stop it crashing...

I am not sure I understand what you mean. Why can't I edit entries that I contribute to, after they are added to the Edited Guide?

The help pages explain this better than I could, but basically, when an entry becomes seperated it is split into two.
The original version is left in the unedited guide, and this can be modifed by the original author. A new, edited version is created, and the only person who can modify this is the sub-editor who edited it.
So you can't modify the entry which everyone will look at - the one in the edited guide... which is why *generally* frequently updated entries are not appropriate for the guide.

Editorial Note: This Conversation has been moved to the new 'Flea Market' Forum.
This is where we move any Peer Review, Writing Workshop or Alternative Writing Workshop Conversations where the original author has *not* posted to h2g2 for three months. This prevents the active Review Forums from clogging up with dormant entries, but in the Flea Market they can be picked up by others and polished off.

I'd like to propose Back to Entry
It looks like much of the focus of this article have indeed been covered by Silly Willy in A681356 and the rest is a bit confusing.
