This is a result of massive research in the field of Coffee House poets. Feedback is welcome!

This is very funny stuff. Unfortunately, it's really a work of fiction; which means it gets nobbled by Guideline Number One: "Write About Reality".
You could change the narrative to a simple description of coffee house poets.

Fiction you say?! Have you ever been to an open forum coffee house reading?! Don't confuse metephor for fiction!

I sit corrected. But the more pedantic taxonomists amongst us might take exception to the scientific binomials.

I saw this thread title before, but I guessed it was some kind of genuine scientific article on an animal species - my humour gland must have been out of order...
I think a retitle of this entry to "Coffee House Poets", would do wonders for it - as well as a slightly more real-world focus. This is a gneuine topic, and one the guide should say much on - but as a mere mortal I have a hard job translating the metaphors back into English...

My 2p worth.
Very funny, I would have no objection to it being in the guide
I'm a scientist and I find no offence here
Looks like it could do with a re-coding into guideML rather than html.

I just put it into some basic GuideML (I know, the PR is not yet the place for Subbing), which makes it friendly for the eye.
Have another look at it at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A573914 , I think it could be added to the Guide. I do not think it's just fiction. It *IS* reality, albeit described in a somehow ironic way.
I like it.

I think Oratorus Deficationus is only meant to have two subspecies...
Hmm - maybe it is ok for the Edited Guide. Hmm. *thinks*

SlowRazors, your splendid opus will now be sent to a sub editor. When they return it to h2g2 Towers - usually it takes about four weeks - the article will feature on the front page and your life will never be the same again When this happens you will be sent an email informing you of the happy event. Well done.

Hi SlowRazors, everyone,
Your entry has been the subject of much discussion this morning, and as a result I'm very sorry to say that we're forced to reject it. As was pointed out in the PR thread, quite rightly, it's certainly a witty and amusing entry, and well written, but it's just over the 'too much subjective opinion' threshold to be considered as a part of the Edited Guide.
This should really have been caught at the two previous stages (i.e. Scout picking and consequent approval in-house) so it seems awful to have to reject it at this stage. Ashley wants to take the blame, but I won't let him - it's a failure of the system, really.
However, because we, and many other people who have commented, like the entry because it's wittily written, it should certainly get attention in the Alternative Guide (http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A608799), and as an ordinary Guide Entry.
Apologies once again for misleading you.
Chris
