I wrote this earlier in the year, and I am quite proud of it. I think the inspiration for it was a dream (hence the title), but I don't really remember.

Thanks! I'm gonna smile and nod and pretend I a) know who she is and b) have read any of her work.
Sigh...the youth of today....

Oh, sure. Since she's a US poet, no reason for you to have heard of her.
In the US, of course, nobody gets through school without reading at least 'Because I Could Not Stop for Death'.

I think you should be proud of it too. It's got an olde worlde style about it (like Ms Dickenson indeed), but still feels fresh. Do keep sharing, I for one am enjoying a new voice in the AWW
I'd recommend reading some more Dickenson too, along with Poe, Tennyson and some Walt Whitman

I second that motion, but can I toss in e.e.cummings, a personal favourite? (Also a Yank.)

to have a quick peek at your Beta stuff.
Tav did tell me on Halloween there was sure to be some good surprises and lots of fun, but unfortunately I never managed to go to Beta world.
Any chance you could tell me which messages to look at (I could do with cheering up)

The last three dots' worth should be pretty good. I transported an Oceanarium.
But if you're going to talk about Beta, start a new thread.
Sorry, Phoeniks...

It's good to see some real rhyming poetry for once. I particularly liked 'darkened eye'. It did remind me a bit of The walrus and the Carpenter, though!
