Is imagineering a real word or did the BBC make it up

I think the BBC did make it up - there are lots of mysterious words like that around! It all gets very confusing - and that's not including all the acronyms - TVC, GMS... even BUM. Actually I think that Imagineering's one of the better ones - at least you can kind of work out what it's all about! Maybe it should become a real word!

I know - bit of an oversight there on the part of the Business Unit Managers!! I'll let you know if I come across any other good ones!

I always enjoyed Kenny Everett's walk around the corridors of the BBC, showing people doors with abbreviated names on it. Then he said (pointing to a door with B.U.M. on it) "This must be the BBC Under Manager" and he opened the door to reveal a big bum inside. "No, it's a bum", he quipped. Then Terry Wogan came past and they said hello. Terry said "I'm off to see the B.U.M" and Kenny shouts "No! Don't open that door", to which Terry, naturally did. The bum farted and blew Terry through the Polystyrene wall behind him, to much hilarious canned laughter. It still brings a smile to my lips when I think about it

Hi guys
Apparently 'Imagineering' wasn't a BBC invention after all - the boss of the department tells me that it was made up by none other than Walt Disney. Guess it makes sense when you think about it - does have a kind of american ring to it...
(useless bit of trivia for the day!)
