h2g2 - what a great thing

When I first read Douglas Adams' "Guide" books, I thought about inventing a travel guide on a gameboy cartridge. A Nintendo Gameboy was the electronic device that came closest to the description of the Guide-hardware in the books.
A couple of years later, I saw a Palm PDA in a shop window. WOW... and now... there is it: h2g2 - A real Guide to Life, the Universe and everything.
I am impressed. And I will use h2g2 to write again. I used to write a lot in my pre-internet years (1990-1995). With friends, I published "BlackMail", the first german Diskmag (like a website without the web). "BlackMail" was published on 3,5" Disk and distributed by young pc users while swapping software.
We wrote about everything - politics, music, food, movies and funny stuff without ay sense.
All our readers were invited to write articles, too. Some of them did.
1995, "BlackMail" died. We all finished school and were spread all over germany, being busy with civil service and university studies.
When I look at h2g2, I wonder about how big the "BlackMail" could have been if we had dared the small step into the web.
But I don't want to be sentimental - I found h2g2 and I will use it.
Just check out the "Clifford about...." articles.
Some of them might be crappy but others contain lots of information.
Feel free to comment them.

sorry- "BlackMail" was not exactly the first german diskmag but "the first PC diskmag in german language".
still legendary.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
