Wow! I am SO new here... yet, I can (barely) imagine the excitement and the amazing feeling that you all must have shared and that we all now continue to share, in whatever part, today!
My hat's off to everyone, especially those H2G2ers who boldly went where no one had gone before (with all due respect to Gene Roddenberry too!).

Wow.
I wish I'd got here sooner now. He and my rl h2g2 friend Urchin actually registered back in last June, but we looked around a bit and decided we didn't like the place *^_^*
Now, I gotta remember to stop pining...

I remember it well... when the h2g2 writing team was producing drivel, and the rest of us followed suit. I shudder when I read some of my old stuff... 
Still, the old site has come a long way in a short time, and I only hope it will continue to improve.
