Hi marjam2,
The best way to get into a conversation is to join in an existing one that takes your fancy. try <./>AskH2G2</.>, which has loads of different conversations.
h2g2 isn't a chat-site - you're less likely to get someone joining in a conversation if all you want to do is chat - but they're generally a friendly bunch here, so if you have something interesting to say, you're more likely to get a reply
