Zarquon's Singing Fish!

smiley - laughInterestingly, I read it the way you meant it and didn't see the typo until you pointed it out. Usually, I'm the first to spot spelling mistakes.

GB, can I suggest you try out a pair of 1.5 strength under a tenner reading glasses as suggested by McKay in post 5. I think you'll find the newsprint will suddenly go back to the size it used to be.

I've given in to them myself recently - only in the privacy of my own home I might add, and I'm a youngster of 44. I just noticed that I couldn't focus on work I was trying to mark, or the little numbers to programme the video that they print in the Radio Times. It's worse in poor light so I found myself taking the paper over to the window or asking my daughters to read things out for me. So it was off to the supermarket stand to buy a pair that folds up and fits in my handbag. Marvellous!

I'm now working out how to integrate reading glasses into everyday life without being sniggered at. I notice Jeremy Paxman has some he takes on and off, so I'll be watching Newsnight for tips. Any ideas?

I quite like the half moon glasses you can get - they work well for me.

Recumbentman

A contemporary trying to read small print said "my eyesight is fine, just my arms aren't long enough".

The link was to a picture of Gnomon's - a couple of others have been removed. I expect they aren't on line any more. I'll delete it.
