I just wrote this about one of my favorite bands. It's a little rough yet, but I'd appreciate any input on it. Thanks.

Dr. Funk

This is a great start, Stephen P.! I went to college in Nields territory and have fond memories of them (though no albums, admittedly). Some suggestions:

1. Tell us what The Nields sound like. The thing that seems to strike most people about The Nields are their vocals. Maybe compare them to other people (like the Indigo Girls but harsher?) to pique interest.

2. Give a little more history of the band. How did they meet? What made them start writing music? Where do they live now? Maybe be more specific than "the east coast of the United States," too--the East Coast is a big place! I'm almost positive that The Nields live in Massachusetts, and maybe Northampton, MA--but I could be wrong, so check.

3. Give us a discography. How many albums do they have? What album is considered their best? Did they have any hits, major or minor? What album is best to start with for someone who's interested in getting into The Nields?

That's about it for now. Take care, and good entry.

-Dr. Funk

Thanks for the advice. I'll work the entry over- the revised version should be up in a couple of days.

The first revision is complete - it's starting to get a bit cumbersome, though. What do you think?

A good intro to a band I've never heard of. When you say East Coast, I've never heard of them in Pennsylvania, so perhaps we could narrow the geography a bit?

Otherwise, this is a good piece about a band. It needs some help with formatting, do check out the GuideML Clinic for how to do lists and headers or ask for help and I'm sure someone will give you a hand. smiley - smiley

The East coast is their primary locale; they live in Massachusetts (though the Nields sisters grew up in Virginia) and have toured all across the USA and Canada. As for PA, they played in Bethlehem, PA on Dec. 9, and often play in Philly and Bryn Mawr. Check out their tour schedule on their website - they might play in your part of PA!

P.S. I've just started learning Guide ML.

This entry has had the priviledge of being hand picked by his Ashleyness himself. Unfortunately, Ashley forgot to tell you. Bad Ashley! No Twinkie!

In due course this entry will become edited, though it may take a while to do so. If you have any questions on what happens next, just ask here, and I'll do my best to help.

Once again, congratulations on a wonderful entry. Keep up the good work!
