I'm going to be an elf!

I have 4 days work at a garden centre as a santa's little helper. i'm so happy I've finally got a job, it's likely they'll take me on after christmas on tills, rather than freezing outside in an unwashed elf costume shared between me and two friends, one thinner, one taller, so it should be interesting.
Firat step on the career ladder Also I may be considered for the sutton skills summer school which prepares you for redbrick unis, so onwards and upwards...I'm such a child.

Venus works in a garden centre as well She despises all the hype surrounding etc.

I think I'm going to cover myself with heat patches too. For those unaqquainted with heat patches, they're things you're supposed to stick to the outside of your clothes and they create heat because they react with air when out of the packet. I don't know what the danger is when you put them on skin, maybe a tiny chance of catching fire, but it's what I've always done.
Thanks for the congratulations, and sorry Norti (and venus), but who's Venus?

One of my friends is the Santa at Debenhams. He's very tall and skinny and pale and couldn't grow a beard if he tried. He claims a 50% success rate in making crying children cheer up, but also a 50% success rate in making any non-crying childen cry.

Thank goodness I'm too old to be sitting on his knee. He'd make me I'll stick with playing hide and seek with the elves

Oh, umm, now I'm not. Turns out there where other people at the garden centre who could do it making pay and that easier. Nevermind, I'll get back on the job hunt.

We're all waiting here like coiled springs for the results of "oh, maybe not" Even trips to the job centre can keep my feeble mind amused, that's when I'm not licking windows and waving at fences

Oh, still full time education for me(love saying that when I get free glasses and dental check-ups) so no trip to the job centre quite yet. Just got to keep an eye on the job page in the newspaper and keep up my determination not to work for nasty sainsburys who make you work every hour you stated you were free and have a day out of education to till train or lose the job.
