I got some good presents for Christmas:
- a book of maps of Dublin; some old, some showing things like wealth in different parts of the city
- a new hand-bag
- a capo for my guitar
- the DVD of Forbidden Planet, which I haven't seen in many years. Will probably watch it over the weekend.
We attended many dinners over the holidays:
Christmas Day in my brother-in-law's
Friday, the American brother-in-law and family came to our house
Saturday, my Stepmother and Sister came for lunch.
Monday, my friend P and his family
Tuesday, my Limerick brother and his wife, who stayed
Tuesday evening/ Wednesday morning - joined by other Irish brother and his family for New Year's Eve
It continues:
Tonight - dinner out with American brother-in-law and other b-i-ls as he is going home to America tomorrow.
Tomorrow night - family friend coming for dinner.
At that stage, I'll be all partied out. I've drunk quite a lot of wine over the last while - on New Year's Eve, for example, the six adults got through five bottles of bubbly and five of normal wine. I think I'll settle for plain water for the rest of January.

When I say the six adults, I always forget that three of the children who were present are also adults. But they don't drink alcohol.
