We were at our last Christmas Party of the season yesterday. A friend of mine goes away at Christmas to her house in the South of France, so she always throws a party when she gets back. We ate mince pies and sang Christmas carols. Altogether a lovely day and a nice end to the season.

That sounds like a lovely tradition, and perhaps buffers some of the 'crash' after all the build-up to the holidays that are ended far too suddenly.

I'm still waiting to arrange two New Years Eve parties with a couple of family groups I couldn't get around to see. I doubt we'll have those before February.

We once had a belated millennium party, as the party on the day had been total cr@p.
Apart from that, I've never celebrated Christmas or New Year's Eve later (but I was used to celebrating my birthday only in January).
