That ellipse question is quite simple if you understand about the pins and string. It basically involves solving the equation x² + 2² = 4².

El's tired all right, but in the last six days she's only had two exams, so it hasn't been too bad. She even went to a table-quiz on the night before the music exam. In two weeks' time, she's off to France for a few weeks to learn French.

I wish I'd had those kinds of opportunities as a child.

In describing the barbecue, I forgot to mention that younger daughter, Iz, baked some delicious deserts involving chocolate: a cake and chocolate fondants.
