Whoops, we have had some rough winds this afternoon and I think I heard heavy rain mentioned for around midnight. Better batten down the hatches. We are already minus about four fence panels from the last lot.

NZ Met Service can't decide what the weather's going to be like over the next five days. Every time they run a model with the latest information they get a radically different forecast One advisory has been for all Cantabrians to remain indoors from Sunday to Tuesday. The next one suggested there'd be snow above 600m but no wind at all
I shall put the precautionary principle into practice and snuggle up with the fire and a good book for the weekend.
Right now it's howling horizontal rain out there

Welcome home Fb
Even the weather has "blown" up for you. !
I do hope that you are beginning to feel less jetlagged and will be able to get on with your life, knowing that your Mother is beginning to make a good recovery after her dramatic illness. I remember my Maman was actually pronounced "gone" by two eminent specialists in 1940
I was told by the visiting Reverend Father that I, aged nearly twelve was to be the "mother" to my sister and three brothers.
Maman actually left us in 1996. It us easy to remember her dates as her DOB was 1900!.
Our Mothers are made of stern stuff. However I am sure that your going to her bedside must have had a really recuperative effect on her. Let us hope that maybe she may even be able to take a sea boyage to visit you in your lovely new adopted country and home
With loving good wishes.

PS I had selfishly hoped that you might stay on a bit longer and would come and visit me. !!
