sometimes I wonder what life would be like with no tension. My teachers all instruct me that to get the best out of my playing, I must release everything... EVERYTHING even the mind... no tension at alll. I think this idea should parallel anything that a person could be good at doing. Mozart wrote without tension.. The notes just appeared to him withput any strain or grief... What does this mean ? It means we have a tremendous amount of purely awsome music for our perusal.... It seems that tension should be the true enemy of this Age of the Digital Watch.... Perfection and mastery are not good enough in of themselves.. They only make any kind of difference when they are attained without breaking a sweat. hmmmm .... maybe I'm wrong.... I just know that it was so much easier to create when I was a child with no worries. I just wrote and it was good. I never thought about it.... My mind didn't have to scurtinize... hmmm
