Cloudesley man, if you put a at the end of your paragraphs it'll break the whole thing up into bite-sized chunks.
As it stands, it made my head hurt even though I've never been to Glasgow.

May I also suggest the occasional and ? They take a bit more work, but they're often rather more attractive. Anything, if you don't mind my saying so (which you likely do) will be more attractive than that monster of a narrative thingy that's up there now! I'm going to have nightmares about your user page, I can feel it.
