I bet Elvis didn't write Love Me Tender anyway (did he write any of his own songs? Is he therefore no different from any of the current batch of "manufactured" groups that we complain so much about, particularly for not writing their own songs?) so we can't really accuse him of being a plagiarist since he probably didn't know. That said, ignorance is a poor excuse.
