I have (seriously) heard that there's a football team there, whose supporters sometimes embark upon a very long chant.
It begins: "Give us an L..."

I have another interesting factoid. The town's name was used in the sci-fi B-movie Barbarella starring Jane Fonda. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch was used to humerous effect as the secret word for the resistance movement on a planet governed by evil forces.

Tauma whakatangihangakauau o tamatea turi pukakapiki maunga horo nuku pokai whenua kitanatahu - "The hilltop, where Tamatea with big knees, conqueror of mountains, eater of land, traveller over land and sea, played the koauau to his beloved".
I used to teach near there - and it IS just a hilltop.
