Hi there Jasper... you called and I appeared
I am, as you may or may not have realised, one of the Aces... a happy band of researchers who love to help out *newbies* and ease them gently into this wonderful place called h2g2.
Our boss is called Peta and you can find some very useful links on her space which you can get to by clicking on the link below http://www.h2g2.com/U24
Please do not hesitate if you need any help of any kind... we are all a very friendly crowd and welcome newbies

Ahah! The Fish?
The fish is the symbol of h2g2 really. Have you read the real books? So Long and Thanks for All the Fish?
The fish have come to be something like currency here on h2g2 and also quite a few of us have our own customised fish as a kind of symbol.
There is also a nice line in chocolate fishes (virtually speaking of course) , the ultimate ones been vodka-filled!
I am afraid that most of us do like a drink, and there are always plenty of parties going on in h2g2.

ROFL! Rolls on Floor Laughing!
Just my kind of guy then!
You will see from one of my journal entries that I support the Saints (Northampton) rugby team, who did rather well this year
You will find plenty of Rugby enthusiasts on h2g2... we have a big crowd of researchers from Australia and new Zealand after all!
Linus is a rugby player. You can find him here:

Loony is also a keen supporter. He is here:

Both good friends of mine
Now... what do you actually want to do now you are here?
Obviously the whole idea is that you read some of the excellent entries which the researchers have already had accepted into the guide. Then, hopefully, when you feel more at ease, maybe you will have a go at writing one yourself. It is always a good idea to check that it hasn't already been covered by someone else though, in which case you can always add your own comments to the forum of the entry instead.
If you just want to spend some time getting to know people and chatting in fora that is fine also. Don't worry... just read what has gone before and join straight in.

Saints had a good season - they were robbed of the Tetley Bitter Cup though. Do you live in Northampton?
Well I think I am going to browse around for a time - but I definitley going to write some stuff. I like the Post too. That is a really good idea.

Thank you for the compliment on the Post
I agree about the match! I was actually at a real life meet for h2g2 that day and one of the staff... Abi, someone else you will meet at some point I think, was supporting the opposition! We nearly came to blows! LOL
I used to... but I live in Holland now!
Yes... you go off and have a browse. Any more questions just pop them here and I will find you
Have fun!
