I did'nt know how big an italian family could be: In the holidays we visited realy ALL of them. Or nearly all. The main problem about family was all the food we had to eat....... If you're ever planning to go to Italy, I recommend the region between Venezia and Trieste. It is called Friaul and quite nice.
