hi would like to be a scout because i like to read good and bad(especially bad) entrys but i dont think i have it in me to be a sub-editor so if you start employing again please let me know

Hi Megachedda,
Are you fairly new to h2g2? If so, welcome! 
Scouts spend much of their life reading and commenting on entries in PeerReview, so I suggest you get yourself known around there - everyone is encouraged to participate, not just scouts.
Write yourself an entry or two as well, and put them through the process. You would then be in a better position to help others do the same.
If and when the italics start looking around for new scouts, you would then be well-known and more likely to be invited.
